Reka Lumina was appointed to lead the design and renovation of the Hammerhead Building located at the Satellite Terminal of KLIA Terminal 1. This strategic zone, connecting Gates C11 to C17, plays a vital role in the passenger journey and sets the tone for the premium airport experience. The project involved a comprehensive transformation of the internal and external environment, beginning with demolition and reinstatement works and extending into full-scale interior upgrades. Reka Lumina introduced a refined material palette, ambient lighting features, elegant wayfinding elements, and modern design accents tailored to KLIA’s premium travel identity. Special attention was given to architectural detailing, lighting integration along staircases and walls, and the reconfiguration of access zones to improve user flow and spatial aesthetics. The Premium Gateway entrance was redesigned to reflect a luxurious first impression for departing and arriving passengers. The renovation combines functionality, safety, and visual sophistication to create a space that aligns with international airport standards while enhancing the comfort and prestige of the satellite terminal environment.
